11:00 am: DEEP STRETCH / RESTORE11:00 am: DEEP STRETCH / RESTORE02/08/2021 – ![]() YogaSix Des Peres 12360 Manchester Rd #206 St. Louis, MO 63131 United States 314-821-1878 Deep Stretch / Restore is an active stretching class that targets primary muscle groups surrounding the hips, hamstrings and upper back. Living in a forward facing, seated world, these areas tend to be tight for everyone. Tight muscles can cause imbalance and pull the body out of alignment. This class begins with warm-up movements to build heat and prepare the muscles for stretching. MANY poses are done on the floor and held for 1-2 minutes. Holding poses for longer periods of time and focusing on breath gives the body time to fully relax and open. Deep Stretch / Restore is an accessible class that everyone needs – athletes, advanced practitioners, weekend warriors, first time yoga students and everyone in between. Focused stretching allows muscles to relax and lengthen, which puts less strain on the skeletal system and reduces tension throughout the body. Students who take this class regularly report fewer injuries and improved sleep. Restore is a great class for first time yoga students. Neither experience nor flexibility are required, just an open mind and a willingness to have fun while trying something new. Post June 15 Covid-19 Updates:Let's move & breathe together safely in this post quarantine time. YogaSix Des Peres is enacting all the protocols suggested by St. Louis County. Class sizes will be extremely limited and mat markers used to indicate a space for you to maintain a six foot distance in class. The room is cleaned thoroughly between classes. Masks are not mandatory, but if you wish to practice in a mask feel free to do so. You must provide your own mat and any props you wish to use. No blocks, straps or bolsters will be made available until further notice. And hands-on assists will not be offered during this time as well. |

9:00 am: FLOW Yoga9:00 am: FLOW Yoga02/09/2021 – ![]() Life Time Frontenac 2051 South Lindbergh Blvd Frontenac, MO 63131 Build physical and mental strength as you flow through a dance-like series of yoga poses, drawing on the breath as your inner source of power in this energizing class. What to ExpectSet to heart-pumping music in a heated studio, this athletic class will shine a light on the reactivity of your mind. My sequencing builds throughout the 60 minutes to prepare your body for flowing in the finale flow. After a spinal warmup with an intentional Sun A and hip warmup with a Sun B designed to target the body parts we'll activate and lengthen in our Sun C, you will feel prepared for the series of flowing yoga sequenced specifically for you to explore poses on your own, moving at your personal pace. Your breath will guide you to a state of mental calm in the midst of this powerfully energetic experience. Why it WorksFLOW is designed to reveal and cultivate your own internal resources — the rhythm of your breath, the steadiness of your mind and the strength of your body — so you can face life’s challenges with confidence and poise. Covid-19 UpdatesIn 2020 I have updated this class to using only nasal breathing and no longer sequence class so that you rotate around your mat (a signature for this Life Power Yoga format). These are intentional. You will also sign up for class and be assigned a mat space. It will give you the six feet of distance required. Every one of us will wear masks from the front door of Life Time Frontenac to our mats and back again. It is then your call if you wish to flow with a mask on or not. 6:30 pm: YOGA FOR ATHLETES - TUE 6:30p6:30 pm: YOGA FOR ATHLETES - TUE 6:30p02/09/2021 – ![]() Climb So iLL 1419 Carroll Street St. Louis, MO 63104 USA (314) 621-1700 Athletes recognize how paramount fluid breathwork is to supporting a relaxed body and mind when performing at a physical limit. Complementing your athletic endeavors with a regular yoga practice, you can benefit from improved stamina, flexibility, agility and centering. In addition, yoga enhances proprioception, a vital ingredient in all sports. What to ExpectYou’ll be guided through a series of passive postures, mostly done on the floor. Poses are held for up to several minutes, allowing fascia and joints to gradually compress or release. This class is suitable for all experience levels; you’ll learn to utilize your breath and observe your natural tendencies when faced with discomfort. Why it WorksPhysically, long-held yoga poses mobilize and lubricate the joints and can help make these tissues more flexible.
