Yoga Nidra + Acupuncture

June 4, 2023 • 2-3:30pm
Life Time Frontenac

RESERVATIONS

Round 2. Our first offering was March 12, 2023.
Yoga Nidra is defined as a practice as well as a state of consciousness. During Yoga Nidra, the body is completely relaxed in stillness. Through guided meditation, you will be sunk into a deep parasympathetic state yet completely aware. This is the perfect time to allow the conscious and subconscious mind to experience different feelings and sensations, without attachment.⁣ Debby will guide Yoga Nidra and offer a brief sound bath during the acupuncture settings as well. You will find your restful space in Life Time Frontenac’s 1600 square foot studio, where you’ll have ample bolsters, blocks, blankets and mats for holding you in stillness during this “yogic sleep.”

A Yoga Nidra practice pairs beautifully with acupuncture. Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine, sterile, disposable, filiform (that means solid, not hollow) needles into certain points on the body to instigate a suite of self-healing mechanisms. Debby will offer sound bathing while Dr. Drew applies the acupuncture to each of the maximum of 14 students. Before the Yoga Nidra begins, Dr. Drew will place small needles at specific points on the body to bring you into an even deeper state of parasympathetic relaxation. You will leave feeling revitalized and calm!⁣
⁣⁣

Bring a water bottle. Wear⁣ comfortable clothing including a tank style top for needle access to the top of your shoulders.⁣⁣ Yoga mats, bolsters & blankets are available for your use.⁣ Spots are limited to 13.
