What happened to the people inside us who were completely unaffected by others’ opinions? Boldly seeking to be individuals who stood out uniquely and unapologetically? I believe they are still in there begging for some air time. Let’s invite them out to play in a safe space where inclusion, connection and empathy abound. A center where you can simply live from a more playful, resilient, expressive place, and surprise yourself with the outcomes.
When we were little, we didn’t have a cell phone keeping us “connected.” We were unencumbered by media messages and comparing ourselves. We frolicked around periodically adding in some unintended yoga poses, or asanas, as part of our day-to-day playtime. Headstands, cartwheels, back bends, shoulder stands, splits… and there were other things we likely chose regularly that have since been replaced by the grind of adult living. When was the last time you twirled, drew, danced, made silly sounds, flew on someone’s feet or just colored all over?
Here is your chance.
While yoga can be a very serious practice, it can also allow playtime; time to let loose the body and mind and be like a kid again.
Recall the fun you had as a small child. Remember how free you were. You were present.
Join JQ Williams, Rebekah Jarchow and Debby Siegel for a weekend (Nov 30 – Dec 2), at yoga epicenter Kripalu in the Berkshires of New England. Ignite that courageous, playful and fiery confidence from your childhood at North America’s largest yoga and meditation education and retreat center. Swing on the porch swings in the crisp fall air, stroll the meditative trails of this former Jesuit seminary, dine on incredible fresh, organic food, and allow the experienced staff at Kripalu Center to compound your relaxing and fulfilling stay.
At our weekend together, you will be inspired deeply to live freer, to smile when happy and cry when something touches your heart. Freed from the stresses of adulting, we’ll rekindle childlike wonder and joy while forging unconditional bonds of friendship. Find a renewed zest for life as we welcome courage and creativity through dance, art, journaling, yoga, acroyoga and laughter. You’ll return home a fresh new being.
